Contents: Little Red Riding Hood, Puss in Boots, The Golden Goose, The Grass Fairies, The Little Match-Girl, and (and adaptation of) The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland (in two chapters). A bumper book containing a good selection of children's fairy tales in large type, printed with a selection of large black and white and monotone illustrations by four different illustrators. The adaptation of Alice, which comprises half the book, is illustrated with previously-published artwork by Harry Rountree and Edgar Norfield. There are two b&w illustrations in the Alice in Wonderland section which have some child's felt colouring, but it's a scarce book, with only one copy in the Phyllis Hirsch Boyson Collection of Children's Literaturecatalogued on COPAC.
