Green leather-backed boards (original front wrapper bound in, spine sunned)
In our opinion this is one of the very best and certainly one of the most unusual (and stylish) illustrated editions of both the Alice books. Jean de Bosschere's wonderfully Surreal monochrome illustrations are spiky, Art Deco-rich and completely in-tune with Lewis Carroll's glorious anarchic romps in Wonderland.
Surprisingly scarce for an edition of 2000, this being no. 1211 of 2000, no other copies can currently be traced for sale online when this catalogue entry was written and made live.
Very Good internally and externally.
